All you mighty servants Hiding all my traps In the perfect areas And the corundum's hold, it grows And I will have everyone under my control And remember to fool the (?) (?) You know once they're there They will find it, you know they will find it In a house that is all blank This guy has gone and explored the house (?) (?) And I can feel All of you will bow to the King of Corundum Fire This one is Rainer(?) And as the flames rise My power grows with you And you will learn your purpose Eventually it will show you At face value And you'll understand how we set you up And I won't leave all this (?) And you will rise Before it in the skies For I am the King of Corundum Fire
2.
So, I can see What you all are doing Come over here now I know you have been very subversive It's time now To start some progress I sense something out there Coming our way Something from the stars Something that out of this system That's coming our way My servants, my servants stand up! This is something that's going to touch down Something's out there, out of our world It's heading towards us I know something's going down That contains secrets that are unknown At the place now we're guarding And call Rainer for what's to come
3.
4.
I'm not wrong here You're the one that put in the fear Slithered your way into the crevasse Planted the seed that festered in minds Setting the world ablaze I'll find you, I'll find you, I'll find you King of Corundum Fire I'll set out your desire He who struck the edge He who sparked the fire Rage planted in me I seek out revenge Who is your next heir? You will find me there Never again will fire rise I will make you fall to your demise King of Corundum Fire Stop taking the mind of innocence Your urban explorer fled the scene I will take him down, you see King of Corundum Fire I know what your plan is Setting the world ablaze I can't let you stay He who struck the edge He who sparked the fire Rage planted in me I seek out revenge Who is your next heir? You will find me there Never again will fire rise I will make you fall to your demise Justice for my family No one hurts my family Justice for my family No one hurts my family Guilty by association Now hear my proclamation I will not be satisfied Until you have been rectified He who struck the edge He who sparked the fire Rage planted in me I seek out revenge Who is your next heir? You will find me there Never again will fire rise I will make you fall to your demise

And it goes all across the yard Infecting the earth's ground Changing scenery around The city is rocking The ground is cracking And everything is forming into Diamond Terracotta All the carbon hardening Every living thing is turning Right back into this carbon form Sinking into the ground Statues of everyone you know Everyone is becoming Diamond Terracotta Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Living statues Trapped in carbon casing Diamond Terracotta!
6.
Rainer, I know where you've been All the cameras show your destruction And it seems that I was forgotten When my family was your first victims But from the ashes of the charred planks I'm still here to haunt your dreams I know what you're made of And you know what I'm capable of I've stopped your reign before And you know I'll do it again Rainer, do you plan on doing your actions again? And if so, feel the ground shift again It's all charred back at home And when the comet came down it eviscerated at that left Making all of the memories disappear And imbued the balance of gravity in me I know what you're made of And you know what I'm capable of I've stopped your reign before And you know I'll do it again And another havoc has been sparked And people start to panic And instantly, I know it must be you So, I know exactly what to do Round two happens tonight! And this time, you won't get to flee And with the charred ground I've sprinted through ashen fields Change is not going to happen in spite of me I am the one that will set it straight My feet kick off the ground As the world turns with me And I will reign supreme As the one who will save my city And I will not let you win And I will not let you rain fear down And I will not let you win And I will be the one who will remain

They roam the neighborhood And a nightmarish scene befell on them Men and women and children turned into statues Cars are abandoned Plants have been converted The grass is nothing but blue A few hundred remain, it seems As Rainer and Madison roam the streets There are doors padded and boarded A few people stare out their windows And when one sees Rainer He can hear him scream at him Rainer covers his face in shame As he speaks to Madison "You need to know I never wanted this. Yes, I was going through something before I found that corundum. I was feeling betrayed by people I considered friends. And when I found that piece of corundum in that blank house I didn't think anything of it. I took that corundum and left the house. How was I supposed to know the house was going to burn down? I was already weak emotionally. I was easy to take over. I wish you didn't get involved. I wish I didn't attack this town. No one deserved any of that And no one deserved any of this. And I know that isn't enough for forgiveness But you deserve to know my end of the story." Rainer and Madison keep walking through the devastation Rainer sees a child staring out of a window There is fear painted over his face And Rainer knows it's a mix of the threat of Diamond Terracotta And his presence alone "I got to make it right to this neighborhood We need to save this neighborhood, kid. Even if I never step foot in this neighborhood again These people don't deserve to be turned into statues. Help me to make things right."
11.
King of Corundum Fire You took my mind away And I'm looking back at it All the damage I did that day King of Corundum Fire I had enough of this game Free me from your influence So I don't have to feel the shame

Conversation 03:59
A woman nervously opens the door "What do you want?" she asked shakily She almost shuts the door when she sees Rainer But Madison speaks instead "We want to know what you saw." "Well, I didn't see it happen, But my son saw it from the window." "May we talk to him?" Rainer asked "With the likes of you?" the lady snarls "I understand your hatred, lady. "I brought a lot of pain to this area, but I want to make things right. I mean no harm this time. I don't want to harm again. I want to stop this threat." The women looks to the side She heaves a sigh and points to someone on a couch "That's my son over there. He saw something land." Madison and Rainer walk over to him "Hey, buddy," Rainer knelled down "I know you are scared of me, but I don't want to hurt you "I just want to know what you saw fall." The boy scratches his arm as he recites what he saw "I saw something blue crash just outside of the town Then something was growing on the ground I saw people get covered in this strange... thing I don't know what, but something landed over there." He pointed out to the outskirts of the neighborhood. "Thank you, kid," Madison replies. "And don't worry, we'll figure a way to stop this." Madison and Rainer start walking out But before leaving, Rainer turned to the lady. "Thank you," he said, before walking out the door

True Form 07:31
Something rises from the ground And a form took hold made of diamond They stand tall, towering over the two The grounds shakes as they take a step And the air changes to bitter cold As the statues start to move in The true form of Diamond Terracotta Stares down at Madison and Rainer The figure, blue and ever changing Horns growing out from every direction on their head Their eyes are glowing white and bright And they raise their arms in command As the statues march on in Surrounding Madison and Rainer Rainer's hands turn to flames "It's happening, kid. A space-age showdown." "It's time to for a world turn." Then a growl comes out of the figure And crystals fly past the two Rainer sets the crystals ablaze And they turn into ashen carbon Madison rises from the earth To avoid the figures attacks And he looks down and says, "How are you going to tackle this?" Rainer looks at the ground to the ashen pile "We're going to have to burn this down," he replies "But it's massive and constantly growing," Madison laments "And we'll find a way," Rainer assures

Now that it's done And the threat has been neutralized Why can't you let me go? I am full of the guilt Of the pain I brought to this town Over a year ago Yet you still have me in your grasp Another servant in your arms Wrapped around your fingers I had time to reminisce Of that time I went to that house And fell for your trap And ever since I've been a vessel A puppet for your plans Where has the person I was gone to? He has to be there somewhere But I'm never finding it, am I? You locked it up somewhere Everyone is terrified of me here Can't you see that for yourself? You're the one that caused that, not me! Let me fade out into the background I can't step foot in here again now I can tell they still dread me Haven't I served my purpose? Give me my freedom What more do you want from me?
17.
My greatest unit My strongest asset Who burned down an extra-terrestrial threat Is now asking to be let go But I can't just do that now, can I? I've seen what you are capable of When you put your mind up to a task And if you think I've full control over you Just look at how you treated everyone around the town When you and that kid defeated that threat Did I make you apologize Or was this with your own free will I will let you make your assumptions Did I do it? I won't tell Why would I ever give up my strongest servant? You have no idea of what's up ahead I can't just release you from my influence There are many battles yet to be fought But you want to have some closure, huh? Well then, you'll never step foot in that town again But don't be surprised if you ever cross paths once more For there's so much more that's in store I have such more sights to show you
18.
Chiselling the people out of the statues Somehow, they were still alive It was like a hive mind That that thing, Diamond Terracotta Must have held a hold of They were all terrified and confused And I can't blame any of them Having a cocoon grow on you And losing your mind to that thing From outer space Rainer stares at the neighborhood More destruction all around And we know he didn't cause it But I still think he feels guilt Yet this wasn't him I have to give it to him If he wasn't here, I would not be able to stop that thing I owe him this They owe him this Yet I watch as he walks off into the distance I can tell he doesn't get closure And I don't know how to feel Deep down there was a man Who wanted to explore the world But is now a pawn Well, maybe I'm a pawn, too And the neighborhood is so confused They don't know what to make of this And I can't blame anyone As my sister stands next to me I think about what happened over a year ago Our house being burned down By a man who lost his mind And by a man who's trying to find Any remnants left

Diamond Terracotta: the Official Sequel to Corundum Red

V: The Corundum King
13. Corundum King
14. All the Mighty Servants
15. Rainer's Call

The introduction to the Corundum King, a figure that has control over a group of people. They are a figure of much power, planning to have power over everyone. He also has an ego. The King senses a threat coming towards the planet, so he contacts Rainer, the "Arsonist" from "Corundum Red", of who he took control of, to go investigate an area of where this threat is going to land. It just so happens to be the same town that Rainer had attacked under the King's influence over a year prior. Rainer is also seen in this chapter to be uncomfortable around the King.

VI: Disaster Strikes Again
16. King of Corundum Fire
17. Diamond Terracotta
18. Stopping the Reign (Once More)

A threat known as Diamond Terracotta lands in the neighborhood where Madison, the kid from "Corundum Red" lives. It starts changing the ground and forming people into living statues. Madison goes to see what is going on, wrongfully assuming it's of Rainer's doing.

VII: Rainer and Madison
19. Corundum V
20. I Know You Hate Me, but We Need to Work Together
21. The Alliance

A rocky alliance forms between the once enemies, Rainer and Madison. Both are tasked to defeat Diamond Terracotta. Rainer tells Madison what he knows, and the head into town.

VIII: Surveying the Destruction
22. The Exploration
23. King of Corundum Fire (Rainer's Reprise)
24. Conversation

Rainer and Madison explore the neighborhood, interview a lady and her son, both of which are terrified of Rainer. Rainer is filled with guilt of his prior actions on the neighborhood during a violent episode of mania caused by the Corundum King's control. Although, he didn't actually kill anyone during his short reign of terror, he is still riddled with the guilt of traumatizing a neighborhood, and he wants to make right with defeating Diamond Terracotta.

IX: Terracotta (March Into Battle)
25. True Form
26. Intervening an Apocalypse
27. Smoke Clouds Dissipating

Rainer and Madison confront Diamond Terracotta. The statues circle the two, a hive mind to DT, if you will. Doubt starts creeping into Madison, but Rainer assures him that they can defeat this extra-terrestrial monster if they work together. The new allies band together to take down Diamond Terracotta. Madison's sister, Elisa, watches the fight unfold.

X: The Aftermath
28. Funeral for The Arsonist
29. The King's Compromise
30. Madison's Account of the Aftermath

Rainer begs to be freed from the Corundum King's influence, but the King refuses. The only compromise they can reach is that Rainer is never allowed to return to the neighborhood. The album ends with Madison's recount of the aftermath, where Rainer, Madison and Elisa help to free the people trapped in the statues made by Diamond Terracotta. Madison recalls the fear and confusion of the neighborhood after such a harrowing event. The album ends with Madison watching Rainer walk away from the neighborhood for the last time, realizing that Rainer was also a victim throughout everything, a prisoner in his own mind, trying to find a new purpose.

Rafe's Note: And this is the last album of Era Eight. The idea of making a sequel to Corundum Red has been kicking around for months. In a way, it brings everything full circle. Corundum Red was our first album we finished together, and it was the start of Era Seven. Now we end Era Eight with Diamond Terracotta. There is supposed to be a compilation of the two albums. I can't tell you when that will release, but hopefully soon.

Now, this album is really technical for us. We used a lot of different time signatures, like 4/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8. and 15/4(?), among other ones that I'm forgetting. It's also the first album we've made after losing the bass guitar. Alas, it wasn't ours, and we were borrowing it. So, we're out of a bass guitar for the time being.

I wrote most of the lyrics on these tracks because I wanted the story to flow, but there are still tracks that are fully improvised. All of Chapter V, all of Chapter VII, and Smoke Clouds Dissipating were all fully improvised.I'm still not done reciting all of the lyrics to the best of my abilities, so they will be added at a later date. Intervening an Apocalypse was also fully improvised, but you're not supposed to understand what I shout during the track, especially since it's instrumental, and a representation of the battle near the end of the album. Also said instrumental ended up sounding like an early Pink Floyd soundscape, like Saucerful of Secrets, or something off of Ummagumma, which we found really cool. Intervening an Apocalypse has become one of our favorite soundscapes/instrumentals we've done so far.

How we end the album, or the story if you will, leaves it up for us to continue the story of Rainer and Madison, whilst still feeling like an end as is. We're likely not going to make another album focused on the two again, but tracks later on might pop up involving them. In the event we do end up deciding to make another album based on the two, it will follow the same format. Three-song chapters, and going up in roman numerals for said chapters.

Oh, and I ended up breaking a string off of my electric guitar. That is a first.

I would like to thank Wilbur, my friends, my family, Will's grandparents, and everyone who's stuck with us. RonZak out.

-Rafe (RonZak) LaNore.

Will’s Note:

I had nothing to do with the story, but it’s a sequel to Corundum Red, and I’m sure Rafe has explained it already.

I had a fun time recording this album. We put a lot more effort into planning out the instrumentation a little bit more, and I even helped with personal input on the production side of things. We kind of just worked through the songs with the ideas we had in mind until it felt fit to end. It was a fun experience, and it helped that we sort of strung things out for a while. Since the release of The Downfall of Reality, we (mostly Rafe) have been planning out the story and the making of this album.

I’d like to thank God, Rafe, Brenda, Madie, and my grandparents for everything. Life’s been easier lately.

I love you,
-Wilbur Bullara
